Get Involved
There are numerous ways to participate in Student Government at Emory University, and we hope that students will join. Across its three branches, Student Government offers students the chance to gain experience and make an impact on campus, tailored to their unique interests and skills.
Elections
Elections are held in the spring for SGA's executive leadership (President and Vice President) and its divisional councils. Most legislator elections for each divisional council are also held in the spring. There are opportunities for first-year students to be elected in the fall. Please reach out to the Chair of Elections and the general SGA elections if you have any questions.
Appointed Positions
After the elections conclude, the Presidents and Vice Presidents of SGA and its divisional councils will release applications for cabinet positions. Please contact the SGA President and Executive Vice President if you have any questions.
Open Committees
All students are welcome to serve on open committees! See our list of open committees in our Executive Cabinet for more details and contact information. Please do not hesitate to reach out and help us with initiatives.
General Body Meetings
All students are welcome to attend Student Government Association General Body Meetings (GBMs)! GBMs are held weekly on Monday at 7 p.m. Meetings are typically in the Emory Student Center, but check our Instagram story (@sgaemory) every Monday for room and building details!
Student Organizations
There are numerous recognized student organizations (RSO) on campus that cater to a diverse array of interests. Check out the Hub recognized student organization directory to explore the available opportunities. Students can also connect with Student Training, Education, and Engagement Resource (STEER) Team to find the organization(s) that are right for them.
