The Peer Advocate Office (PAO) is a new SGA initiative built to connect students in need of support to existing resources on Emory’s campus and advocate on their behalf when necessary. This is an entirely student-run initiative that aims to bridge the gap between the student body and Emory’s existing student support services. A team of undergraduate students serving as Peer Advocates will be responsible for triaging student concerns, directing the student to the appropriate campus resource, and developing an advocacy strategy if needed.

Director of the Peer Advocate Office - Harleigh Markowitz

The First Year Council is a diverse group of first year student leaders and is designed to get freshmen involved on campus. Working hand in hand with SGA, this group aims to empower first-year voices in student government, help students grow as leaders, and give new students the agency to advocate for themselves. Through FYC, students form lasting connections with key administration officials, SGA members, and their fellow classmates. Students also learn how student government works and are able to form new friendships and learn how to be a dynamic student leader.
