Judicial Branch
The Judicial Branch (the Judiciary) includes the following Judicial Bodies: The Constitutional Council and any Judicial councils of the recognized Divisional Councils.
Constitutional Council
The Constitutional Council is supreme judicial council (or ‘Supreme Court’). The council hears and decides on questions of the constitutionality of any actions taken under the provisions and jurisdiction of SGA Constitution and has original and appellate jurisdiction over the decisions of inferior judicial bodies. The council hears and decides on questions regarding the constitutionality and equity of any university action which affects the rights of any undergraduate student or group there of and has original and appellate jurisdiction over such questions.
This branch of SGA decides on controversial issues or ambiguities in our governing documents.
The Constitutional Council is headed by a Chief Justice, who is one of the members of the Constitutional Council.
